Telemiracle Awareness Bracelets Available Exclusively at Credit Unions of Saskatchewan  

The credit unions of Saskatchewan and Kinsmen Telemiracle are pleased to launch a new fundraising project.  Telemiracle Awareness Bracelets will be available at participating Saskatchewan Credit Unions from today through March 3, 2006.  The proceeds of the bracelet sales will be presented on Telemiracle to be aired March 4 and 5, 2006 on the CTV Miracle Network.

 “Awareness Bracelets have become very popular the last year,” said Bob Lesperance, Sponsorship Chair for Kinsmen Telemiracle 30.  “The people of Saskatchewan hold Telemiracle close to their hearts.  With our new awareness bracelets, we have the opportunity to share our commitment to Telemiracle and to have a daily reminder that Telemiracle’s motto is “Helping People Every Day.”

 “Saskatchewan credit unions are very pleased to be a part of TeleMiracle,” said Keith Nixon, vice president of Democratic Support and Corporate Secretary for SaskCentral. “As financial institutions that are focused on bettering the lives of their members and strengthening their communities, credit unions understand the value of people helping people.”

 The Kinsmen Foundation has been making miracles since 1971.  Over the years, there has been greater need to support the people of Saskatchewan providing special equipment and access to medical assistance.  Through Telemiracle dollars, the Kinsmen Foundation is able to gift, for example, mobility equipment, special needs equipment, community vans, and equipment in hospitals and health centres.  All contributions to Telemiracle are directed to assist all of these and other related needs for the people of Saskatchewan.   

 Saskatchewan credit unions are democratically controlled financial institutions owned by the people they serve. There are currently 88 credit unions in Saskatchewan serving 332 locations and nearly 570,000 members.
