Art Gallery of Regina
The Art Gallery of Regina is a non-profit public gallery in Regina featuring contemporary art with an emphasis on Saskatchewan artists. In addition to the art exhibitions, the gallery offers an extensive public education program featuring lectures, tours, visiting artist events, seminars, hands-on workshops and demonstrations. The contribution from Saskatchewan credit unions sponsors the installation of four art exhibits in the SaskCentral building.

Canadian Blood Services
Assignment: Saving Lives is a recruitment program that encourages post-secondary students to recruit at least 25 blood donors during the summer months. Students who achieve this goal have a chance to win a bursary to help pay for their tuition. Saskatchewan credit unions support the program by offering a gold level bursary.

Canadian Gymnastics Championships
In May 2012, Regina will host the Canadian Gymnastics Championships. Athletes will compete to be the best in women’s and men’s artistic gymnastics, tumbling & trampoline and rhythmic gymnastics. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to sponsor the women’s floor exercise at this national event.

Canadian Red Cross Bullying Prevention Program
The Red Cross bullying prevention program (Beyond the Hurt) provides young people with the tools to stop bullying before it starts. The program also teaches students, teachers, parents and community members how to combat bullying and harassment to make their schools and communities safe. The support provided by Saskatchewan credit unions enables the Red Cross to offer the program at schools across the province.

Canadian Western Agribition
Canadian Western Agribition is one of North America’s largest and best known agricultural marketplaces. Over 4000 head of livestock are on display during the six day show in November. Agribition also hosts over 450 tradeshow exhibits featuring agri-business and technology products and services, western arts and crafts and home and lifestyle products. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to sponsor the Commercial Cattle and Bull Pen Alley events at Agribition. 

Children’s Wish Foundation
The Children’s Wish Foundation is a national non-profit organization dedicated to granting wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of that particular child. Approximately 900 wishes are granted annually. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to fulfill the dreams of children across the province.

Chili for Children
Chili for Children provides a free hot lunch three days a week to over 500 needy children and youth in Regina. The program also provides emergency food hampers and free bakery items to families that are unable to feed their children. Saskatchewan credit unions are pleased to support this valuable community program.

Credit Union EventPlex
Saskatchewan credit unions have a ten year sponsorship agreement with the Regina Exhibition Association to name the Credit Union EventPlex. The Credit Union EventPlex provides a venue for sports, trade, cultural and educational events.

Credit Union Queen City Marathon
The Credit Union Queen City Marathon is Saskatchewan's premier running and walking event. Organized and run by hundreds of dedicated volunteers, this national-caliber, Boston-certified marathon showcases the beauty of Regina to runners from across North America. In 2010, Saskatchewan credit unions laced up to be the title sponsor of the marathon for three years. The Credit Union Queen City Marathon was selected as Best Marathon in Western Canada by Get Out There Magazine

Do It With Class Theatre
Do It With Class (DIWC) is a performing arts program that provides music, drama and dance training to children and youth ages 10 to 19 from Regina and surrounding areas. DIWC performs three full scale theatre productions each year. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to sponsor the 2012/2013 season.

Four Directions Health Centre
The goal of the Four Directions Community Health Centre is to achieve health and wellness for individuals and families in the Regina community. The Health Centre provides a variety of supportive services including primary health care, addictions counseling, nutrition education and life skills training. The support provided by Saskatchewan credit unions will allow the Health Centre to purchase books for their literacy program.

Globe Theatre
Globe Theatre is Saskatchewan’s largest performing arts organization and the regional theatre for Regina and southern Saskatchewan. In addition to live theatre, the Globe offers educational programming that includes classes and training for children and teens, an internship program with the U of R Faculty of Fine Arts and an actor conservatory training program. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to sponsor the May 2012 production of “The Buddy Holly Story”.

Humane Society Senior Pet Therapy Program
The pet therapy program matches community volunteers with senior care homes and rehabilitation facilities to allow homeless animals from the Regina Humane Society shelter to visit with care home residents. The program benefits residents, animals and volunteers. The care home residents experience physical and mental well-being. The animals benefit from social interaction and human contact and the volunteers experience personal satisfaction from watching the interactions between seniors and animals. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to support this valuable community program.

Ignite Adult Learning Corporation
Ignite Adult Learning Corporation (IALC) is a unique community-based employer that assists at-risk young adults to develop the personal, social and employment skills needed to become independent, self-supporting and contributing members of society. The support provided by Saskatchewan credit unions pays for five employee trainees to participate in the IALC program. The relationship also provides employees with an opportunity to volunteer as mentors to trainees and to participate at the board level.

International Year of Co-operatives
The United Nations has declared 2012 International Year of Co-operatives. Saskatchewan credit unions are working alongside other provincial co-operatives to raise awareness about co-operatives and their contributions to economic development.

Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement offers innovative programs that stimulate and inspire school children to value free enterprise, understand business and economics, and develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Programs are delivered using standardized Junior Achievement learning modules which are facilitated by experienced business people. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to help the Regina chapter deliver the program in Regina schools.

Regina Car Share Co-operative
The Regina Car Share Co-operative provides a convenient, flexible and affordable alternative to owning a car. Members pay a user fee to access a vehicle when they need it without the responsibilities of ownership. The co-op currently has one car and is planning to expand their fleet with the contribution provided by Saskatchewan credit unions.

Regina and District Association for Community Living
The mission of the Regina and District Association for Community Living (RDACL) is to ensure that people with intellectual disabilities can participate fully as valued citizens in the community. The RDACL allows individuals with an intellectual disability and their family members to access a number of programs, including the Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network (PLAN), a program that assists families to establish a financial plan and social network that will ensure a safe and secure future for their loved one. Saskatchewan credit unions are pleased to support the RDACL and their PLAN program.

Regina Open Door Society
The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina. Programs include counseling, language services, employment services, child care and a welcome center for newcomers. Saskatchewan credit unions will build lives and fulfill dreams by contributing to an educational bursary and a summer program for children and youth.

Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association
Each year the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) provides over 3,100 gold, silver and bronze medals, engraved with the credit union logo, to student athletes at over 50 provincial championships. They also award school keeper plaques to school teams at provincial championships.

Saskatchewan credit unions have supported the SHSAA awards program since 1998. With our support, the SHSAA is able to provide a positive experience for the student athletes in Saskatchewan and recognize their achievements.

Saskatchewan Co-operative Association Co-operative Youth Camps
Saskatchewan Co-operative Association Co-operative Youth Camps provide a fun environment where teens can learn about co-operative philosophy and values. The camp experience leaves participants with increased leadership skills, self-confidence and the ability to co-operate with others. Saskatchewan credit unions supplement camp registrations for participants.

Sofia House
Sofia House is a second stage shelter that provides safe and affordable housing and counseling services to women and children who are leaving violent or abusive relationships. The shelter environment allows families to acquire the life skills needed to move forward with a life free from violence. The support provided by Saskatchewan credit unions will allow the shelter to purchase furnishings, clothing and other necessities for the families living in the shelter.

Teddy Bears Anonymous
When a child is admitted to a Regina hospital, either through emergency or the admittance desk, he/she is given the gift of a teddy bear from Teddy Bears Anonymous. Teddy Bears Anonymous has been providing comfort to sick children since 2008 by delivering more than 16,000 teddy bears. The support provided by Saskatchewan credit unions will be used to purchase teddy bears for the program.

Regina Therapeutic Riding Association
The Regina Therapeutic Riding Association (RTRA) provides horse riding instruction for children and adults with various disabilities. Therapeutic riding offers physical, psychological and social benefits for participants. Riding increases balance, mobility and muscle strength. It also expands boundaries and improves self-esteem.  Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to support this program.

Western Canadian Crop Production Show
The Western Canadian Crop Production Show has become Western Canada's premier grain industry showcase. The show presents information on the latest technology and products including: crop production practices and products, equipment manufacturers, seed and soil information and grain handling, processing, storage and transportation. Each year Saskatchewan credit unions attend the show in Saskatoon as an exhibitor.

Western Canadian Farm Progress Show
The Western Canadian Farm Progress Show is the largest dry land farming exhibition in Western Canada. Over 700 companies, dealers and financial institutions display agricultural products and services at the show which is held in Regina in June. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to support the Farm Progress Show and the agricultural industry in our province.

YMCA – Tomorrow’s Y’s Leaders
The YMCA provides Aboriginal Leadership programming through its Tomorrow’s Y’s Leaders (TYL) program. Aboriginal youth ages 12 to 18 are encouraged to participate in cultural, leadership, social and personal development activities that will help them make healthy, positive life choices. The program is free and youth who participate are also provided with a free YMCA membership to get them involved in other YMCA youth programs. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to sponsor this program.

YOGA in the PARK
YOGA in the PARK uses the practice of yoga to raise awareness about arthritis programs, services and research. Yoga helps build stronger, more flexible bodies in a way that is gentle on joints; something that is very important for arthritis patients living with chronic pain. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to support this annual event. YOGA in the PARK will take place at a Regina park in August 2012.
