Adult Learning Centre

The Adult Learning Centre (ALC) is a unique community-based program that assists young adults in building employment, social and personal skills to support themselves and their families. The support provided by Saskatchewan credit unions pays for five employee/apprentices to participate in the ALC program each year. The relationship also provides employees with an opportunity to volunteer as mentors to employee/apprentices and to participate at the board level.

Art Gallery of Regina

The Art Gallery of Regina is a non-profit public gallery in Regina featuring contemporary art with an emphasis on Saskatchewan artists. In addition to the art exhibitions, the gallery offers an extensive public education program featuring lectures, tours, visiting artist events, seminars, hands-on workshops and demonstrations. The contribution from Saskatchewan credit unions will sponsor their Annual Salon Show, annual fundraiser and the installation of four art exhibits in the SaskCentral building.

Canadian Red Cross “Beyond the Hurt” Bullying Program

The “Beyond the Hurt” program makes young people aware of the devastating impact of bullying and teaches them ways to react when bullying affects their world. The program also trains “Bully Prevention Teams” in schools or districts. The team consists of a teacher, administrator, two or three youth and a parent or community member. Each team receives extensive training as well as the tools, resources and support needed to deliver the program. Our contribution enables the Red Cross to train five “Bully Prevention Teams” at inner city and/or community schools in Regina.

Canadian Western Agribition

Canadian Western Agribition is one of North America’s largest and best known agricultural marketplaces. Over 4000 head of livestock are on display during the six day show in November. Agribition also hosts over 450 tradeshow exhibits featuring agri-business and technology products and services, western arts and crafts and home and lifestyle products. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to be a gold sponsor at Agribition. 

Credit Union Eventplex

Saskatchewan credit unions have a ten-year sponsorship agreement with the Regina Exhibition Association to name the Credit Union Eventplex. As a venue for sports, cultural, trade and educational events, the Credit Union Eventplex will have long-term benefits in terms of healthy lifestyles, personal achievement, commercial growth and pride in our communities.

Credit Union Queen City Marathon

The Queen City Marathon is Saskatchewan's premier running and walking event. Organized and run by hundreds of dedicated volunteers, this national-caliber, Boston-certified marathon showcases the beauty of Regina to runners from across North America. In 2010, Saskatchewan credit unions laced up to be the title sponsor of the marathon for three years. The marathon will be known as the Credit Union Queen City Marathon.

Easter Seals Saskatchewan – Drop Zone

Easter Seals Saskatchewan allows children with disabilities to access programs and services such as Camp Easter Seal and Adaptive Technology Services - a program that provides advanced equipment and computers to help kids with disabilities function in their environment. Easter Seals hosts a fundraiser known as the Drop Zone – an event that requires “superheroes” to rappel down the side of a building. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to support this event in 2010.

Holy Rosary Community School – Artrageous Minds

Artrageous Minds is a children’s art program that was developed to enhance creative self-expression through the creation of art projects that are simple and fun. Saskatchewan credit unions provide sponsorship funding to Holy Rosary Community School to provide the Artrageous Minds program as an after school activity for children in kindergarten to grade eight throughout the school year.

Junior Achievement

The goal of the Junior Achievement program is to get young people excited about the world of business as they learn first hand about the role of business, government and consumers in our society. Programs are delivered to school children using standardized Junior Achievement learning modules which are facilitated by experienced business people. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to help the Regina chapter deliver the program to students from grades 3 to 12 in the Regina public school system.

Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association

Each year the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) provides over 3,100 gold, silver and bronze medals, engraved with the credit union logo, to student athletes at over 50 provincial championships. They also award school keeper plaques to school teams at provincial championships. Saskatchewan credit unions have supported the SHSAA awards program since 1998. With our support, the SHSAA is able to provide a positive experience for the student athletes in Saskatchewan and recognize their achievements.

Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League

Saskatchewan credit unions have a three-year sponsorship agreement with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) to name the League Cup - the Cup will be known as the Credit Union Cup. Open to all North American-born players 20 years of age or younger, the goal of the SJHL is to provide athletes with the opportunity to compete at an elite level while striving to achieve their educational and career goals. The 12 SJHL teams play from mid-September through to late February followed by playoff action as teams compete for the League Championship and the coveted Cup.

SCA Co-operative Youth Seminars

SCA Co-operative Youth Seminars provide a fun environment where teens can learn about co-operative philosophy and values. The camp experience leaves participants with increased leadership skills, self-confidence and the ability to co-operate with others. Saskatchewan credit unions supplement camp registrations for participants.

Western Canadian Crop Production Show

The Western Canadian Crop Production Show has become Western Canada's premier grain industry showcase. The show presents information on the latest technology and products including: crop production practices and products, equipment manufacturers, seed and soil information and grain handling, processing, storage and transportation. Each year, Saskatchewan credit unions attend the show in Saskatoon as an exhibitor.

Western Canadian Farm Progress Show

The Western Canadian Farm Progress Show (WCFPS) is the largest dry land farming exhibition in Western Canada. Over 700 companies, dealers and financial institutions display agricultural products and services at the show which is held in Regina in June. Saskatchewan credit unions are proud to support the Farm Progress Show and the agricultural industry in our province.
